Kontron says the IBOX is a modular unit that can be configured with a wide range of options. CPU choices include: 1.1 and 1.6 GHz Pentium M, 1 GHz LV Celeron, 400 MHz ULV Celeron, 600 MHz VIA Eden, and 1 GHz VIA C3. All CPU assemblies are fanless and passively cooled. Memory size ranges from 256 MB to 1 GB using standard SDRAM-DIMM modules.

The IBOX comes standard with two USB 2.0 ports, gigabit Ethernet, COM1, PS/2, LPT, and VGA ports. Additional I/O is available through “JFLEX” add-in cards, such as the multimedia card pictured at right. The JFLEX cards use Kontron's proprietary PCI connectors.

Storage options include CompactFlash from 128 MB to 1 GB, or a shock-resistant hard drive of 20 or 60 GB.

The device can be configured to get power from either 120 or 240 VAC, or 24 VDC and is designed to mount on DIN rails or attach directly to the wall.

The JRex IBOX is available now with prices starting at 690 Euros.
