Coventive appoints CEO

Taipei, TAIWAN — (press release excerpt) — Coventive Technologies, an international software company focused on custom Linux solutions for systems and embedded information appliance use, today announced the appointment of Randy Tan to the position of chief executive officer. Tan brings over twenty years of management, IT industry sales, and engineering experience to Coventive.

Prior to joining Coventive, Tan spent six years at Compaq Computers, where he was the Managing Director of Compaq China, and had headed the Enterprise Computing Group for the Greater China region. Tan previously held various management positions at Digital Equipment Asia, including Channel Business and Operations Manager for all Asia, and Head of Sales for Singapore. Tan most recently was a Vice President at i2 Technologies.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, Randy Tan will be based in Coventive's Taipei office, and will have control over the entire group's global business operations and strategic development direction. Coventive currently has offices in Beijing and Xi'An in China, in Taipei and Kaohsiung in Taiwan, and in San Jose, US. Tan also heads Coventive's investment holding company, XChannel which controls significant stakes in related group companies Wahoo, CSA Coventive, Gemtek, and Softwell.
