Embedded Linux Consortium to hold platform standards kickoff meeting

Jan 15, 2002 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — views

The 100+ member Embedded Linux Consortium (ELC) will host its Second Annual Meeting on Tuesday, March 12, 2002 starting at 6:30pm in San Francisco's Moscone Center. This meeting dovetails with our first Platform Standard Technical Committee Plenary meeting.

As the ELC enters the era of embedded Linux platform standardization, these event are an excellent time to familiarize yourself with global efforts to build an open, multivendor software platform. The Annual meeting provides a report to members on the state of the ELC. Following immediately, the Plenary deals with platform standardization, graphical user interfaces, Java, footprints, real time, Telematics and several related areas. Authoritative speakers will describe the current state of these efforts, offer open discussion and invite participation opportunities in working groups. You do not need to be a member to get involved with ELC working groups.

There's a strong possibility that one or more technical interests represented by a working group will also hold half- or full-day working session. Please monitor the ELC's website for the latest information and instructions for involvement.
