First word of second coming of Fujitsu Linux-powered robot

Fujitsu's Linux-based HOAP-1 robot appears to have been reincarnated as HOAP-2, according to a report at The Register. The new model looks a lot like the earlier one, and is reportedly powered by a 700 MHz Intel Pentium III running a real-time version of Linux (presumably RTLinux).

Fujitsu announced HOAP-1 (Humanoid for Open Architecture Platform) in September 2001, saying, at that time, that the little RTLinux-powered robot was mainly targeting research and development of robotic technologies.
