The fifth annual FOSDEM (free and open source software developer's European meeting) includes several tracks that may interest embedded Linux developers. Set for February 26th and 27th in Brussels, Belgium, the free event includes tracks on development tools, the Linux kernel, and computing grids and clusters.

Interesting tracks and speakers include . . .

  • Development tools:
    • kdevelop by Alexander Dymo and Harald Fernengel
    • ddd by Andreas Zeller
    • Gambas by Benoit Minisini

  • Grid/Cluster:
    • Globus Toolkit by Olle Mulmo
    • Linux-HA by Alan Robertson
    • OpenGFS by Ken Preslan

  • Linux kernel:
    • Device Mapper by Alasdair Kergon
    • sysfs/kernel driver core by Pat Mochel
    • Kernel by Alan Cox

Tracks will also be offered on the desktop, packaging tools, and security. Last year's FOSDEM featured a combined kernel/embedded track.
