Dec 4, 2007 — by Eric Brown — from the LinuxDevices Archive — 5 views

Open source licensing expert Jason Wacha will present a free 90-minute webinar on the GNU GPL (General Public License) next week. The MontaVista VP and OpenBar founder hopes developers, managers, and executives will attend the event, set for Thursday, December 13 at 10AM PST.

Wacha (photo on left) is vice president of corporate affairs and general counsel at MontaVista, as well as the director and founder of Open Bar, a nonprofit organization established to educate both developers and attorneys about open source licensing. He co-chaired the American Conference Institute's recent Software Licensing Agreements conference.

Wacha will speak and answer questions on copyright and copyleft, the process of removing copyright restrictions. Themes include licensing effects on business practices, strategies for determining liabilities and protections, and the differences between GPL v2 and GPL v3.

The event is scheduled for 10AM PST on December 13. More details can be found here.
