Geode SBC features GX2 SoC, supports Linux

Evalue has released a new passively cooled 3.5-inch form-factor single-board computer (SBC) based on an AMD GX2 SoC (system-on-chip) processor. The ECM-3512 supports Linux, and targets medical instruments, POS (point-of-sale) systems, thin clients, network appliances, test equipment, and industrial control, according to… the company.

According to Evalue, AMD's GX2 processor consumes just 0.9 watt, 50 percent less than any other comparable x86 processor on the market, while providing performance equivalent to that of a 466MHz VIA C3 processor. Additionally, the GX2 integrates a 2D graphics engine.

Evalue lists the following key features and specifications for the ECM-3512:
