ISDCorp and ARM announce strategic agreement

San Jose, CA — (press release) — Integrated Software & Devices Corporation (ISDCorp) announced a strategic agreement with ARM through which ISDCorp will provide Royal Linux for ARM partners. The agreement follow ISDCorp's successful port of the Linux kernel 2.2 to the ARM7 processor.

Having recently announced the production availability of Royal Linux and the port of Linux 2.2.1, ISDCorp is working to ensure that any systems manufacturer using ARM RISC processors can now take advantage of the footprint and speed of Royal Linux for their devices, at a cost considerably lower than that of other embedded operating systems.

“This agreement with ISDCorp provides immediate availability of a proven embedded Linux solution for developers of ARM powered solutions who are faced with demands of faster time-to-market and reduced costs for their products,” stated Rod Crawford, Director of Third Party Software Products for ARM.

“ARM is the leading provider of 16/32-bit embedded RISC microprocessor core intellectual property and one of the industry's leading hardware designers,” commented Dan Wald, vice president of Business Development for ISDCorp. “As more products become Internet-enabled and as Linux drives down the price of portable communications, Internet appliances, hand-held computers, multimedia digital products, and others, ISDCorp's Royal Linux for ARM core-based processors will accelerate their availability,” Wald concluded.
