Lineo announces Japanese distribution partners

ESC, San Jose, CA — (press release excerpt) — Lineo today announced premier channel partnership agreements with Japan-based Dia Semicon Systems, Inc.(“DSS”) and Kanematsu Semiconductor Corporation (“KSC”). DSS and KSC are both established semiconductor distributors and device-related systems integrators. Lineo looks to advance the presence of Linux-based solutions through the wide assortment of equipment supplied to the Japanese market by DSS and KSC, including cell phones, set top boxes and global positioning systems.

DSS and KSC have established hardware and chip solutions for OEMs and have teamed with Lineo to provide a complementary Linux OS and software. Lineo Japan is currently working on Embedix SDK-J (Japanese version, Lineo's embedded Linux software development kit,) to be channeled through DSS and KSC. Lineo's Embedix RealTime and uClinux solutions will also be used by DSS and KSC's customers.
