Arabella Software has announced that its professional services group is available to port Linux to custom hardware based on the PowerQUICC architecture. The group's “Quick Start Program” can quickly deliver Linux board support packages (BSPs) even for complex system-on-chip processors such as the Freescale PowerQUICC family, the company says.

Arabella says it can configure the PowerQUICC processor, memory controllers, and other low-level device drivers optimally for a particular platform, and resolve Linux-related issues such as boot and start-up procedures and file system selection.
