Hardware/software media hub reference design vendor Video Without Boundaries (VWB) is demonstrating new features and partnerships, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this week in Las Vegas. Video Without Boundaries (VWB) says its MediaReady designs now offer more support for popular online services and applications, as well as support for new video capture cards.

VWB says its MediaReady designs can record and playback live TV, DVDs, and CDs, while providing Internet browsing, email, electronic programming guides, and access to exclusive entertainment content. The designs also support karaoke, and support in-field firmware updates.

VWB says its CES demonstrations introduce several new features and partnerships, including support for Apple iTunes, Yahoo! Music, Google Video, AOL Optimized 9.0, voice calling, and media transfers to Apple iPods.

Additionally, the company is showcasing a user interface option from SageTV added to the MediaReady 5000 design, as well as new support for Hauppage video capture cards, and a new MediaReady 6000 design under development (pictured above).

VWB launched its original MediaReady 3000 in April of 2003, following up in September with the MediaReady 4000 (pictured at right). Last year, it launched a third-party software ecosystem around the MediaReady platform, and released the MediaReady 5000 design around a new, easy-to-use user interface from partner SageTV.
