The NA-812A is designed for VPN, content filtering, UTM (unified threat management), network security gateways, and other embedded networking applications for the SOHO market, says Axiomtek. The system incorporates an Intel Core 2 Duo clocked from 1.2GHz to 1.8GHz with 6MB L2 cache, and offers up to 4GB of memory, says the company. I/O includes six gigabit Ethernet ports with LAN bypass, plus two USB 2.0 ports and a serial port. A 2.5-inch SATA2 hard disk drive (HDD) bay is available, and Disk On Module (DOM) storage is optional.

The NA-812A is touted for its “green” and “ultra low power” profile, but Axiomtek does not offer power consumption figures. Measuring 1.7 x 8.7 x 5.9 inches, the 1U desktop is powered with a 12-Volt power supply. Other features include BIOS redirection to the console port, and support for the built-in Intel Active Management Technology 4.0, offering security and remote access features.
