Sep 30, 2009 — by Eric Brown — from the LinuxDevices Archive — 4 views

Aaeon announced a Mini-ITX motherboard equipped with the Intel GME965 + ICH8M chipset. The EMB-9658T offers a choice of Intel Core 2 Duo or Celeron M CPUs, plus EIDE and SATA II ports, PCI-Express x4 expansion, dual gigabit Ethernet ports, eight USB 2.0 ports, and other I/O, says the company.

The EMB-9658T provides users a choice of Intel Core 2 Duo or Celeron M CPUs, and offers dual 200-pin DDR2 SODIMMs, supporting up to 4GB of 533/667MHz memory. The board is equipped with the Intel GME965 northbridge and ICH8M southbridge, although an ICH8ME southbridge is optional for those who need RAID support, says Aaeon.

The EMB-9658T supports LCD/CRT, LCD/DVI, LCD/TV, CRT/DVI, and TV/DVI display combinations at up to 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution, with simultaneous dual display support, says the company. The motherboard also features 24-bit dual-channel LVDS, with DVI-I and SDVO options. TV-out is provided for delivering NTSC, PAL, or HDTV video at up to 1080p, says Aaeon.

Storage options are provided via an EIDE port (shared with a CompactFlash interface) and dual SATA II ports, and the board offers both PCI expansion and a riser card incorporating MiniPCI and PCIe x4 interfaces. I/O is said to include dual gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 ports, eight USB 2.0 ports, five serial ports, and other I/O (see image and spec list below).
