MontaVista expands European presence

Apr 25, 2007 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — 1 views

Embedded Linux supplier MontaVista Software announced this week that it has acquired two closely affiliated UK-based companies. “MontaVista Limited” and “Liberte” will provide sales, support, and professional/consulting services to electronic design customers and partners, helping MontaVista meet increased Linux demand “across nearly every sector of the embedded market,” the company said.

Russell Harris, MontaVista's executive VP of field operations, said, “Customers are clamoring for access to scarce kernel-level expertise in real-time Linux. Growth in Europe is phenomenal.”

According to Ian Graham, former head of both Liberte and MontaVista Limited, and now European director of professional services for MontaVista, “The transition has been seamless for customers, employees, and partners. We are now well positioned to address growing demand for embedded Linux and value-added services.”
