ProSyst revs remote management software for OSGi service gateways

Aug 29, 2003 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — 3 views

ProSyst Software AG is shipping version 3.2 of its mPower Remote Manager (mRPM) for all OSGi-compliant (Release 3) service gateways.

ProSyst says mPRM 3.2 can deliver and manage services and applications to electronic devices in the home, vehicle systems, mobile devices, and industrial environments. Reliable data exchange between devices, manufacturers, network operators, and external service providers facilitates business partnerships, ProSyst says, and extends the life-cycle of devices by enabling remote software updates.

ProSyst touts mPRMs capabilities to “deliver, deploy, remotely install, start, stop, de-install, manage, update, and bill” services such as:

  • Remote updates of device software
  • Remote error diagnosis
  • Data readout
  • Entertainment content
  • Information services

ProSyst offers a usage example involving a car manufacturer “remotely delivering software updates or infotainment services to multiple cars of a specific series, a certain region or a defined user category.”

Another example would be distributing current pricing or other data to mobile salespeople through remote synchronization with back-end systems like J2EE application servers and CRM/SCM systems.

Dr. Dimitar Valtchev, CTO of Prosyst Software AG, says the software “Allows gateway operators and service providers to securely interact with consumers and third parties.”
