An article in the Idaho Statesman reports that RidgeRun, a firm which specialized in providing an Embedded Linux based software platform specific to Texas Instruments' dual-core (DSP/RISC) system-on-chip processors, has gone out of business.

CEO Rudy Prince is quoted as saying, “The board of directors unanimously agreed not to accept some funding terms presented to us and rather than encumber the company on what we saw as difficult terms, we decided to shut down.”

“I think a fair number of people here are looking at regrouping and attacking the same markets,” Prince said, according to the Idaho Statesman story.

RidgeRun reportedly had previously received $5 million from Texas Instruments and $1.5 million from a Boise venture capital fund, and had 30 employees at the time of closing its doors.
