SciTech offers SNAP SDK for download

Oct 9, 2003 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — 13 views

SciTech Software is offering its SNAP SDK for X11, Qt, Qt/Embedded, DOS, OS/2, and other industrial embedded OSs for free download under the LGPL license ( href=”http://www.scitechsoft.com/licenses/faq_lgpl_questions.html”>License FAQ). SciTech also sells commercial licenses and support for SNAP.

SciTech calls SNAP “the total graphics device solution for the embedded/industrial systems developer,” with support for more than 200 chipsets. It claims its standards based, OS agnostic approach to graphics device support allows for the rapid development and deployment of embedded solutions across multiple platforms, removing the need to address hardware specific requirements.

SciTech's SNAP Graphics technology was adopted by Trolltech for future versions of Qt/Embedded and by Rocklyte for use in the commercial version of Athene.
