Sega cuts Dreamcast price to $49 — run Linux on one?

[updated Nov. 23] David Becker of CNET News.com reports that Sega of America announced Wednesday that it is dropping the price of its discontinued Dreamcast video game console to $49.95 — around the price of a single game for consoles from Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo.

I just saw the news item on LinuxDevices.com encouraging developers to try Linux on the Dreamcast. I should point out that there is a major caveat to running Linux on the Dreamcast. The caveat is that Sega has many different ROM versions on the Dreamcast and that recent versions of this ROM __will not__ boot any CDRs. Here are 2 pertinent links:
