Sharp to demo Linux PDAs and launch developer program

Bloomberg News reports that Sharp Electronics will demonstrate prototypes of handheld computers running Linux next month at the JavaOne conference, which takes place June 4 to 8 in San Francisco. The Bloomberg story sites Hiroshi Uno, general manager of Sharp's handheld division, as the information source.

LinuxDevices.com has learned from another source within Sharp that the company plans to use the occasion of JavaOne to launch a developer program for its Linux PDAs, and also will announce further specifics of the devices at the show. Sharp's Linux PDAs will feature a Java Virtual Machine runtime environment for applications.
