San Francisco — (press release excerpt) — ThinSoft Inc. and theKompany.com (TKC) have announced that they are jointly offering a bundled software solution for the Sharp Zaurus PDA SL-5500. The bundle consists of ThinSoft's WinConnect Z, a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) 5.1 Client for the Zaurus that allows it to connect to Windows applications, and TKC's tkcJabber, a full-featured Jabber client that… supports all major instant messaging platforms.

WinConnect Z enables the Linux-based Zaurus PDA to access Windows applications. For example, it allows IT managers to remotely manage corporate networks via the Zaurus. WinConnect Z enables this through a connection to a Windows 2000 Server or XP Pro PC and establishing a remote link.

tkcJabber is a full-featured Jabber client that supports all major instant messaging platforms that are available in the Jabber server. Transport connection wizards make it easy to interface to AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo Chat, IRC, etc.

The bundled solution is available from both ThinSoft and TKC.
