Wind River’s Linux chief to speak

Feb 20, 2008 — by Eric Brown — from the LinuxDevices Archive — views

Vincent Rerolle, the newly appointed Linux chief at Wind River, will be presenting at an investor conference tomorrow in Denver. Rerolle's presentation at the D.A. Davidson Electronics Systems Design Conference will be webcast live at 11AM Mountain time, and could shed more light upon Wind River's recent re-organization.

Rerolle was named senior VP and GM of the Linux product division on February 6th, as part of a reorganization that slotted organizational functions into four groups. The divisions and their leaders are as follows:

  • VxWorks — Scot Morrison
  • Linux — Vincent Rerolle
  • Tools — Tomas Evensen
  • Device Management — Amit Ronen

This appears to be an active period for management changes at the two major Linux tools firms. Yesterday, MontaVista announced that Russell “Rusty” Harris was replacing Tom Kelly as the new president and CEO. Kelly is moving on to the CEO position at Epicor.

A live audio webcast of the 11AM (10AM PST, or 1PM EST) presentation at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Denver will be available here. The webcast will also be archived at the Investor Relations section of the Wind River website.

Meanwhile, Wind River's Q4 2008 earnings call is scheduled for March 6th at 5 p.m. EST.
