Compact SBC expands via PC/104, mini PCI

Aewin has announced a highly integrated 3.5-inch form-factor single-board computer (SBC) that accepts either Pentium M or Celeron M processors. The EM-7302 runs Linux, offers modular PC/104 and optional mini PCI expansion, and targets embedded applications such as interactive kiosks, parking gate control, and medical equipment.

The EM-7302 SBC implements a wide range of PC-style functions and interfaces. Key chipsets include Intel's 852GM “Extreme Graphics2” and 82562GT Ethernet controllers, and Winbond's 83627HG “super-I/O” chip, Aewin said.

  • Memory — 200-pin SO-DIMM accepts up to 1GB SDRAM (200/266/333)

Aewin distributes a Linux driver for the EM-7302's LAN port, along with VGA, LAN, audio, and chipset drivers for a variety of Windows OSes. The company typically supports its board-level computers and accessories under Windows XP, Windows XP Embedded, and Linux, although it had not confirmed this support for the EM-7302 by publication time.

The EM-7302 appears to be available now. Pricing was not disclosed. Aewin also offers a Geode-powered 3.5-inch board that runs Linux.
