emDebian pops up at LinuxWorld UK this week

EmDebian (embedded Debian) will be represented in the dot-org pavillion at this week's LinuxWorld tradeshow in London, and project leader Wookey (pictured at left) will help man the booth. Developers interested in discussing embedded Debian or embedded open source are invited to drop by.

The emDebian project launched in May of 2000, and has since helped make Debian one of the most commonly embedded Linux distributions, used in about 14 percent of embedded projects and projects, surveys suggest.

According to Debian ARM maintainer Vincent Sanders, the emDebian booth is partly sponsored by Simtec, an embedded development house that closely tracks the ARM Linux kernel. “Simtec [is] sponsoring a couple of people to be on the stand, and wookey will be there too,” Sanders stated.

He adds, “So, if you want to discuss Debian in the embedded arena, or any other aspect of Open Source embedded work, come along and see us.”
