Europe to form Embedded Linux Consortium chapter

May 10, 2001 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — views

Attention all euro-penguinistas!

The Embedded Linux Consortium (ELC) is forming a European chapter of the ELC, to be called the “ELC-Europe”. An organizational meeting will be held next month (either June 12 or June 19) in Augsberg, Germany for the purpose of kicking off the new group.

According to ELC Executive Director Murry Shohat, the fledgling ELC-Europe already has plans for aggressive promotion of the embedded Linux message, as well as participation in the recently announced Embedded Linux standardization efforts. By attending this meeting, you will have an opportunity to steer these efforts and to determine how the organization is funded. “Early supporters will (also) gain Founder status in ELC-Europe,” says Shohat.

Further details are available by sending an email to Murry Shohat.
