San Jose, CA — (press release) — LynuxWorks, Inc., formerly Lynx Real-Time Systems, today announced that ZNYX Networks is porting its drivers with embedded RAINlink High Availability software for its NetBlaster series of adapters to BlueCat Linux, LynuxWorks' version of embedded Linux, which offers strong support for high availability, high reliability embedded applications.

NetBlaster is ZNYX Networks' line of PCI, CompactPCI, PMC, and PIM Fast Ethernet adapters. RAINlink (Redundant Array of Independent Netports), the company's scalable software technology, is embedded into the drivers to deliver high performance, high availability and remote management. The products provide the advantages of high availability and hot-swap capability in the event of a link (network adapter, cable or switch/hub port) failure.

BlueCat Linux is part of the LynuxWorks suite of products that have a common compatible tool set which allows the use of either BlueCat Linux or the Linux-compatible LynxOS real time operating system or both together in embedded systems development.

“ZNYX Networks is excited that LynuxWorks took their advanced technology and experience in real-time operating systems to the Linux arena,” said Alan Deikman, chief technology officer for ZNYX Networks. “By porting our RAINlink High Availability software to BlueCat, ZNYX Networks will be able to provide the telecommunications and Internet infrastructure with the first Carrier Class CompactPCI hot swap high-availability networking solution for Linux-based systems.”

“Our major telecommunications customers seek flexible, scalable and open architecture software as the foundation for their next-generation products,” said Dr. Inder Singh, CEO and Chairman of LynuxWorks. “ZNYX Networks' NetBlaster and RAINlink technologies combined with the BlueCat's open architecture and strong focus on high availability and reliability are designed to provide customers with competitive differentiators and also shorten time-to-market.”
