Media Stream Technologies is shipping a tiny x86-based platform for a range of space constrained embedded applications such as kiosks, mini PCs, and network appliances. The fanless eBox-3800sl and 3850ps feature a low-power Via Eden processor that supports Linux.

The 3800 series eBoxes run a Via Eden-N Nano processor at 800 MHz with 356 MB of DDR RAM. The accompanying CLE266 chipset includes an MPEG-2 accelerator for high-quality multimedia applications, according to Media Stream. The device features a “quick boot” AMI BIOS said to boot in 5 seconds.

Media Stream lists the following key features and specifications for the eBox-3800:

The 3850ps has enough space to accomodate a 2.5 inch hard disk drive.
