Please participate: LinuxDevices.com demographic survey

Mar 22, 2000 — by Rick Lehrbaum — from the LinuxDevices Archive — views

LinuxDevices.com requests that all visitors to its popular “Embedded Linux Portal” website participate in the fourth poll in its Embedded Linux Polls series (located here). The new poll is a survey of embedded Linux developer demographics.

In order to assist in better understanding and supporting the embedded Linux market, the survey requests developers of Linux-based embedded systems to provide background information about themselves, their applications, and their companies.

Future polls will highlight specifics of the embedded applications, developer preferences for tools and support, and other aspects of the growing use of Linux in embedded applications. LinuxDevices.com also invites companies and developers in the embedded Linux market to email suggested questions for future Embedded Linux Polls to [email protected].

Through these ongoing polls, LinuxDevices.com will measure and characterize current and future preferences and trends of embedded system developers. Like Linux itself, the polls data collected will be fully available for all to review following the conclusion of each weekly poll. Previous polls were on the topics:

  • Why use Linux in embedded applications?
  • Please describe your embedded application.
  • Which Linux distributions will you use in your embedded applications?
Results from completed polls can be viewed online, at www.linuxdevices.com/polls/.
