MontaVista says “very high customer demand” led it to expand its partner program, adding “Premier Professional Service Partners” (PPSP) and “Integration and Consulting Partners” (ICP) classifications. MontaVista claims its Partnering Program counts 270 constituents worldwide, including chip and board makers, software vendors, and consulting service providers.

MontaVista PPSPs are regional affiliates “authorized and supported by MontaVista to deliver a variety of quality engineering and consulting services.”

MontaVista has announced two inaugural PPSPs — Vytek, and MPC Data.

Vytek is based in San Diego, Calif. MPC Data Limited is “one of Europe's leading creative software solutions companies,” with five years of Linux experience and customers that include SONY, Renesas, Texas Instruments, Motorola, Hitachi, and Orange, according to MontaVista.

ICPs, meanwhile, comprise “a broad base of engineering services companies who have hands-on development experience with MontaVista Linux,” and enjoy the latest information on MontaVista products.

Sheila Baker, vice president, Marketing, MontaVista Software, said, “We are meeting market demand by providing multiple avenues to quality certified services on MontaVista Linux. Our goal is to enable complete vertical solutions for our customers, from hardware design through complete application suites.”
