Hard Hat Linux and Qt/Embedded join forces

Apr 9, 2001 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — views

London, U.K. — (press release excerpt) — MontaVista Software Inc. and Trolltech AS have joined forces to create a comprehensive and integrated Embedded Linux platform. The new agreement combines Trolltech's Qt/Embedded development framework with MontaVista's Hard Hat Linux distribution in a comprehensive platform — operating system, development framework, and embedded windowing system — for embedded… systems developers.

Developers can see a demo of MontaVista's Hard Hat Linux bundled with Trolltech's Qt/Embedded at MontaVista's booth 122 at the Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco, April 10 – 12. The demo will be running on a Compaq iPAQ that features a palmtop computing environment designed and built with Qt/Embedded.

Trolltech's Qt/Embedded will be available on the Hard Hat Linux platform in May 2001.
