Indian Wells, CA; Upside Showcase Conference — (press release excerpt) — Lineo received the top two awards at the Upside Showcase conference this week. Lineo was the recipient of the “People's Choice” award and the winner of the “Demo Til You're Dropped” award given by conference organizers for the company's demonstration of the Embedix SDK 1.2 software development tool. More than 100 companies participated in the exclusive, invitation-only conference showing many of the latest technologies for the Web and electronic devices.

“Lineo had all the ingredients that our judges love — hot new market, innovative technology, great growth potential and an entertaining, engaging on-stage demo,” said Jesse Berst, executive producer of the Showcase conference.

Attendees of the conference were each given the opportunity to vote electronically for the best product demonstrations. Lineo showed how the company's flagship product, Embedix SDK 1.2, makes it easier for developers to create embedded software for mobile phones, personal digital assistants, set top boxes, VPN routers, network cameras and other small devices. Lineo was unanimously selected as the people's choice winner among all of the products demonstrated at the conference.

In addition, Lineo was one of seven companies selected from among all of the vendors to participate in the “Demo Til You're Dropped” portion of the Showcase conference. These companies were given the opportunity to demonstrate their product to attendees and a panel of judges in a “Gong Show” format with the goal of getting through the entire demonstration without getting gonged, ending the exhibitor's demonstration. Lineo was the only company at the conference to make it past the scrutiny of the judges and complete the product demonstration without getting gonged.
