MontaVista adds IBM PowerNP C compiler to toolset

Nov 14, 2002 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — views

Sunnyvale, CA — (press release excerpt) — MontaVista Software announced the addition to its tools offerings of the Optimizing IBM PowerNP C Compiler, which supports IBM's PowerNP network processors.

The compiler targets applications in communications, networking, storage, and Internet devices and implements a subset of ANSI C and most of the GCC extensions to ANSI C. It also allows for the in-lining and interfacing of C with PowerNP pico-code (PowerNP assembly language). The compiler features the use of PowerNP coprocessors as described in the IBM coprocessor API Reference Manual.

Current subscribers to the MontaVista Linux Professional Edition can download the compiler from the 'MontaVista Zone' developer website.
