Red Hat supports ‘Carrier-grade’ messaging software

Orlando, FL and Atlanta, GA — (press release excerpt) — Glenayre Technologies, Inc. today announced it is one of the first companies to offer carrier-grade messaging solutions on the Linux operating system. Red Hat will provide consulting, engineering, development, and customer services and support to help Glenayre implement Versera Solutions on the Red Hat Linux operating system. Glenayre will launch its premiere Linux-based messaging solution in the second quarter of 2002.

Glenayre's Versera solution suite includes enhanced messaging and communications solutions that enable multimodal access and management of voice, fax and e-mail messages, as well as information services. Voice-enabled applications include real-time call management, Constant Touch on number services, dial-by-voice and run on Versera Dynamic Architecture, an open, JAVA-based platform. Versara meets carrier needs for high reliability, scalability and rapid deployment of new services.
