West Des Moines, IA — (press release excerpt) — Icon Laboratories, Inc. announced that its SNMP IQ Application Builder version 1.1. Version 1.1 now targets Linux (in addition to VxWorks) and provides a level of operating system independence enabling generated agents to easily target other platforms.

SNMP IQ is the first rapid application development (RAD) tool available that automates SNMP v1/v2/v3 agent creation and testing for embedded network devices such as switches, routers, network infrastructure equipment and storage area network devices. It is both a visual IDE and code generator for automating a wide variety of SNMP development tasks.

SNMP IQ generates SNMP objects, MIB elements (MIB files, tables, table elements, scalars and traps) and source code for an SNMP agent. Once compiled, the agent can then be verified with the SNMP IQ Agent Tester which provides both a built in test suite and support for custom scripts for application specific testing. SNMP IQ is available now.
