St. Paul, MN — (press release excerpt) — CodeWeavers, Inc. today unveiled CrossOver Office Server Edition, a Linux utility that allows the use of popular Windows software — including Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Lotus Notes, and Visio — on Linux thin clients.

In addition to supporting Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Internet Explorer, CrossOver Office Server Edition 1.3.1 also supports Lotus Notes, and Microsoft Visio 2000. Support for additional client environments, like Windows, HP-UX, Apple, and SGI, is planned for future releases. CrossOver Office 1.3.1 runs the same set of apps directly on a Linux system.

CrossOver Office Server Edition 1.3.1 is available immediately, priced at $1,195 for the server software, with an additional $1,185 for a 25 concurrent user license. 100 concurrent user licenses cost $4,000. No restrictions are placed on the number of users running off of a single server, although customers may purchase additional server licenses at $595 apiece. Unlimited enterprise site licenses are also available.
