Samsung smartphone ships in China

Engadget is reporting that Samsung's Linux-based SCH-i519 smartphone is currently available to mobile customers in China. The device is based on an Intel PXA255 clocked at 400MHz, and includes a 240×320 color TFT touchscreen. It works with CDMA 1x networks.

Samsung first announced that the SCH-i519 was ready to ship in December of 2003.

According to the Engadget article, the phone uses the same hardware platform as Samsung's SPH-i700, which runs Windows Mobile.
