Linux powers 96-node “personal cluster”

Kontron has introduced a small, Pentium-based industrial computer targeting field buses, processor control, firewalls, human-machine interfaces, and embedded applications. The JRex IBOX measures 8.9 x 2.3 x 4.8 inches, and supports embedded Linux, according to the company.

A group of KDE developers is closing in on a PIM (personal information manager) suite that can run on Qtopia PDAs/smartphones as well as Linux, Windows, and Mac desktops. The Pi-Sync Project says the organizer component of its platform-independent PIM suite is now feature-complete and stable.
Parvus has released four new PC/104 form-factor embedded processor modules based on Intel's new ULV Celeron Tualatin processor and 815E chipset. Three of the modules target harsh mobile environments such as trains, buses, aircraft, and tanks, and are compatible with embedded Linux, according to the company.
