Open source embeddable database achieves milestone release

Embedded Linux for Sigma Designs SoCs targets sub-$100 devices

Taiwanese embedded software firm EzHomeTech is shipping a Linux implementation for inexpensive consumer-electronic devices based on Sigma Designs system-on-chip (SoC) processors. Qt object adds advanced spreadsheet-like user interface elements

Integrated Computer Solutions (ICS) has released a “grid/table object” for Qt under both commercial and free licenses that it claims simplifies the inclusion of user interface elements with sophisticated spreadsheet-like functionality. QicsTable works with Qt, a cross-platform development framework that enables Windows, MacOS, Linux, and UNIX binaries to be compiled from a single source tree. (more…)

AMD network processor includes IPsec packet processing in hardware

AMD announced the latest processor in its Alchemy embedded processor family today, the Au1550 “security network processor.” AMD says the Au1550 is suitable for use in Linux-based networking and remote access devices such as gateways, network attached storage (NAS) units, wireless access points, and VoIP applications. Suite of 3G and WiFi development toolkits supports embedded Linux

Radvision has added 3G and WiFi features to its line of toolkits for broadband mobile wireless application development that support Linux, among other OSes. Radvision's “Ensemble” toolkits now support “all the main application protocols needed for the delivery of one-way, bidirectional, and multipoint data and multimedia content over a broadband mobile network,” the company claims. Trusted computing toolkit to support embedded Linux

SafeNet announced plans to offer a “trusted mobile computing toolkit” that support TI's OMAP Secure-Mode processors and ARM's TrustZone technology-enabled processors on devices running embedded Linux. Consortium to promote handset solutions based on SH-Mobile processors
