HTC has announced its third Android-driven smartphone, debuting an HTC-designed customizable user interface (UI). The HTC Hero adds new styling, Adobe Flash support, and a five megapixel camera to the similar HTC Magic and MyTouch 3G designs, and introduces a new UI layer called HTC Sense. (more…)

Samsung says it is sampling a netbook SSD (solid state drive) that offers a standardized, 3.0Gb/sec. SATA interface. Using a Mini PCI Express form factor, the drive comes in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB capacities, and is almost eighty percent smaller than 2.5-inch disks, the company says. (more…)

Intel Corp. and Nokia announced a long-term partnership to develop “a new class of Intel Architecture-based mobile computing device and chipset architectures.” In the near term, the deal calls for collaboration between the Linux-based Moblin and Maemo mobile platforms, and Intel's acquisition of a Nokia HSPA/3G modem IP license.
