Leesburg, VA — (press release excerpt) — Embedded and Real Time Linux training specialist System Design and Consulting Services (SDCS), announces a 'fast-start' training class based on the ARM processor. This class is being conducted in association with Arcturus Networks, in Toronto Oct. 15-17 2002.

The ARM processor is finding its way into an increasing number of embedded projects. Powerful, low cost devices are becoming available combined with an increasing suite of tools and utilities available under uClinux.

The course covers the ARM instruction set, uClinux boot and start up code as well as the, initially complex, interrupt vectoring system. GNU Tools, Threads, debuggers and simulators are included. (M68K-based Coldfire and Dragonball systems are also covered.) Device Drivers are introduced and a sample device driver is added to the kernel. Ways to recognize and avoid common bugs in device driver development are discussed. Course Labs include network, hardware and flash device access. You learn to set up your projects under CVS so that they can co-exist with the uClinux Source distribution.
