Sasn Ramon, CA and Pittsburgh, PA — (press release excerpt) — SBE Inc. today announced that it has entered into a partnership with TimeSys, naming them as the exclusive embedded Linux distribution provider for the SBE HighWire product family. TimeSys Corporation and SBE will jointly supply a complete Linux development environment for engineers building the next generation of networking solutions.

SBE and TimeSys have teamed to provide the high-performance and modularity of the HighWire carrier-class core processing platform with the scalable computing power of TimeSys Linux GPL and cross-platform development tools. The HighWire 400c/M and HW400p/M are high-performance telecom solutions based on CompactPCI and PCI architectures, with modular PMC and PTMC interfaces.

TimeSys Linux GPL consists of a powerful, fully featured, preemptible Linux kernel and all other modules needed to extend a standard Linux distribution to support the predictable, extremely low-latency response requirements of today's telecommunication systems.
