Virtual instrumentation specialist increases Linux compatibility

Dec 21, 2005 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — 2 views

National Instruments (NI) is shipping a batch of Linux drivers that it says triples the number of its virtual instrumentation and measurement devices that support Linux. The company hopes the release will allow more Linux OS users to achieve the lower system costs and increased productivity of virtual instrumentation, it says.

Among the new NI Linux drivers are NI-DAQmx 8 driver software, along with new instrument drivers for a variety of modular instruments. Additionally NI's LabView 8 graphical development platform, which the company describes as its “flagship software” product, is also now “fully supported” on Linux, it says.

Additional details can be found on NI's Linux page, here.
