$149 Linux PDA begins shipping

Empower Technologies reports that they have just begun shipping the PowerPlay V, a new Linux-based PDA with the look and feel of a Palm Vx.

The PowerPlay V is based on a 16 MHz Motorola Dragonball system-on-chip processor with 8MB of system RAM memory plus 2MB Flash (upgradeable), and… provides an IrDA interface. The display is a 160 x 160 pixel monochrome (4 grayscale) backlit touchscreen LCD. The unit is powered by a rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery. The device measures 4.6 x 3.2 x 0.5 in.

The new PDA is available for purchase at a price of $149 on Empower's website. Delivery time is listed as “2-4 weeks”.
