MontaVista tips its (hard) hat [SD Times]

Writing at SD Times, Edward J. Correa reports that MontaVista Software Inc. is preparing to unveil “Version 2.1 of what had been called Hard Hat Linux.” According to Correa, the key changes (in addition to the product getting a new name) will be the incorporation of Linux kernel 2.4.17 (including the EXT3 filesystem) and a change in IDE from Code Crusader to KDevelop. MontaVista Secures Heady Investment [LinuxGram]

Writing at LinuxGram.com, Raga Rao reports that MontaVista Software has defied the current slow economy and raised an additional $28M of funding from an investor group which includes Sony, Panasonic, IBM, and an unspecified major computer company.
