May 3, 2002 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — views

A message from Sharp and Hancom to Zaurus SL-5000D owners . . .

To all developers who purchased the Zaurus SL-5000D prior to March 21, 2002, Sharp has extended a special 'thank you' for all their hard work and effort in making the Zaurus a truly great handheld. As such, Sharp and Hancom are pleased to offer a licensed copy of target=”new”>Hancom Mobile Office which includes Mobile Word, Mobile Sheet, and Mobile Presenter.

This is for early adopters of the SL-5000D only, and you will need your serial number for verification purposes. To download your free copy of Hancom Mobile Office, go to this URL and supply your name, email address, and SL-5000D serial number. Assuming your serial number qualifies, you will then be able to immediately download the software (a 2.5MB zipfile).

Note the following limitation: “As a courtesy to users of the SL-5000D, we are offering a free download of Hancom Mobile Office and free upgrades. However, the SL-5000D is not a supported platform for us and, as a result, we cannot offer technical support to users experiencing installation problems. We recommend that those users review these notes and use our message boards and Zaurus-related mailing lists. Please go to desktop.mobile.hancom.com for more information.”

Hancom Mobile Office is a complete productivity suite for Linux-based PDAs. Hancom Mobile Office brings the power of our Hancom Office productivity suite to the Sharp Zaurus SL-5500 and SL-5000D PDAs. View and edit your email attachments on your PDA.
