“Several companies with open source Linux OSes, such as Monta Vista Software [SIC], which allow complete access to the kernel's source code, and proprietary RTOSes vendors (some of which also allow access) are jockeying for a lead position in accelerating this platformization. In November, both Wind River Systems and Green Hills Software introduced 'superbundles' targeted, in part, at the embedded networking space as bid to play a role in this platformization . . .”
