Timesys Corporation has collaborated with partner and tools developer Lineo Solutions to provide DIY embedded Linux development subscriptions for two Renesas SH4-family RISC processors.
Kontron has joined with Aaeon, Adlink, and Advantech to propose the new “COM Express Ultra” standard for COMs (computer-on-modules). Compatible with the COM Express Type I pinouts and connector location, the 84 x 55mm form factor adds a separate connector for SDVO (serial digital video out).

Asus has unveiled its second netbook using Intel's 1.66GHz Atom N280 processor. The “Eee PC 1008HA” is just an inch thick, weighs 2.4 pounds, has a 10-inch LED-backlit display and 160GB hard disk drive, and delivers five-hour battery life, the company says.
Digi International is readying two ARM9-based, network-enabled embedded modules that run Linux or Windows CE. Equipped with a Samsung S3C2443 SoC, the ConnectCore 9M 2443 and WiFi-enabled ConnectCore Wi-9M 2443 offer a variety of interfaces, including Ethernet, USB, serial, and camera support, says Digi.
