Intel aims T9400, GM45 at device market

This week, Intel launched five 45nm Core 2 Duo processors under its new “Centrino 2” moniker. The overall announcement emphasized laptops, but the company's new 2.53GHz T9400 processor and GM45 Express chipset target embedded devices, with a touted seven-year lifecycle and available EMBC2DGM45DRxDK dev board. Automation computers run Linux

Axiomtek has announced two aluminum-cased embedded computers targeting automation, kiosk, digital signage, and vehicle applications. The Linux-compatible eBOX832-831 and eBOX832-840 offer dual gigabit Ethernet ports, six USB ports, four COM ports, and two IEEE 1394a ports, according to the company. (more…)

COM Express module runs 2.53GHz Core 2 Duo

RadiSys announced a COM Express module based on Intel's newly shipping Core 2 Duo T9400 and GM45 Express chipset. The Linux- and Windows-ready Procelerant CEGM45 targets portable, high-performance applications, and comes in Type 2 and Type 3 COM Express pin-out models, says the company. (more…)

CG Linux vendor touts standards-compliance triple crown

MontaVista announced that its Linux Carrier Grade Edition (CGE) 5.0 is the first Linux distro to be certified for the Linux Foundation's (LF's) Linux Standard Base (LSB) 3.0, the LF's Carrier Grade Linux (CGL) 4.0, and IPv6. Linux thin client software certified “Secret”

Trusted Computer Solutions (TCS) has announced Secret and Below Interoperability (SABI) level certification for its Linux-based, thin-client access software. With the SABI rating, the cross-domain SecureOffice Trusted Thin Client (STTC) software now enables easy transfer between classified and “unclassified but sensitive” domains, says TCS. (more…)
