ColdFire microcontrollers gain new developments tools
Apr 23, 2003 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — viewsMetrowerks announced the release of version 4 of its CodeWarrior Development Studio for Motorola's MCF5282 32-bit microcontroller, which boasts on-chip Ethernet LAN and Controller Area Network (CAN) fieldbus interfaces, along with 512KB of embedded Flash memory.
The development toolsuite is said to support a number of commercially available real time operating systems (RTOSes) and networking protocol stacks, including uClinux (available from Metrowerks).
A sample two-CD evaluation copy is available now from Metrowerks. The CD set bundles the RTXC Quadros RTOS and ARC Precise/MQX RTOS with communication protocol modules, and development tools.
A complete kit, consisting of the software, evaluation board, power supply, cables, “Background Debug Module”, and documentation, is available for $850.
