Control system software platform supports Linux RTOS
Jul 8, 2003 — by LinuxDevices Staff — from the LinuxDevices Archive — viewsReal-Time Innovations (RTI) announced that its “Constellation” control system software platform is now supported on TimeSys Linux RTOS, a single-kernel “true hard real-time” Linux operating system. Control system applications for the two companies' combined software technologies are expected to include applications in the industrial control, aerospace, and defense markets, including unmanned vehicles,… military systems, and industrial automation devices, the companies said.
According to RTI, constellation provides a framework, components, and tools that simplify control system programming and enable building modular solutions using reusable software components. The tool chain provides a graphical development environment that covers requirements analysis, software design, controls design, project management, networking, revision control, system integration, simulation, testing, and debugging.
RTI said its Constellation package is available for TimeSys Linux immediately.
