Details emerge on new $299 Linux PDA

Softfield, which took on support of the Agenda VR3 following the demise of Agenda Computing, said it will release the entirely-new MX-7 in early Sep., 2003. The device is based on an ARM 920T based processor running at 200MHz and includes Trolltech's Qtopia GUI environment and PIM apps (as on the Sharp Zaurus).

- Input/output interfaces available via sync connector: USB 1.1 client, RS232, PS2 keyboard/mouse

- Audio: stereo headphone jack; built-in mono speaker and microphone.

With its quarter-vga (QVGA) TrueColor display and 200MHz processor, the MX7 ought to run Konqueror well. Many applications that run on the similarly Qtopia-based Zaurus from Sharp ought to compile fine for the MX7.
